Saskatoon Business College offers a variety of healthcare programs for students interested in working closely with the public in a helping profession.
SBC Online Courses
Learn at your own pace as you earn a credit towards your SBC diploma.

PAYMENT
Payment can be made by post-dated cheque made out to “Saskatoon Business College”, or by credit card online, by phone, or in person. You may also pay by debit in person. Payment is only collected once the course is confirmed to run, usually 5-10 business days before the course is scheduled to start.
COMPLETION
Students are awarded certificates of completion upon fulfilling course requirements. Completed courses may be used as credit towards an SBC diploma. See SBC Diploma Programs or Meet with an Advisor for more information.
HOURS PER WEEK
The workload in each course will vary and will depend on the complexity of the material, as well as individual student and their work habits and familiarity with the content. However, most students require 3—6 hours of study per week for the entry level courses, and 5—8 hours of study per week for courses that have prerequisites.
TEXTBOOKS
Students living in and around Saskatoon will be required to pick up their textbooks in person.
Students who are not able to collect their textbooks from SBC will receive ebooks and other digital learning tools. If these resources are not available, students are required to pay the cost of shipping their textbooks.
CANCELLATION
SBC reserves the right to cancel a class if minimum number of registrations are not met. If classes are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment numbers, registrants are entitled to 100% refund of their tuition and books/supplies fees.
REFUND POLICY
Cancellation after SBC has confirmed the class start day and/or the applicant has logged in to Blackboard on the first day, SBC will retain full tuition and textbook/supplies fees.

KEYBOARDING

Gain knowledge and skill with touch keyboarding. Train to type approximately 25 words per minute (wpm) with reasonable accuracy.

The Records Management course is designed to provide instruction and practice in indexing, coding, and cross-referencing records using alphabetic indexing rules. Emphasis will be placed on alphabetic systems, subject, geographic, and numeric filing. Students will review records retention and transfer, control of requisitions and charge-outs, and selection of supplies and equipment. Students are introduced to using a computer database to apply records management principles. Electronic records, image records, and establishing a records and information management program are also discussed.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have gained knowledge of Microsoft Word 2016 functions and will be able to create a variety of business documents. Students will also continue to build keyboarding speed and accuracy.

The Accounting/Bookkeeping course is designed to provide valuable knowledge and experience in keeping a set of books for a small business or large corporation. Students will learn the mechanics of recording transactions on a daily basis using different journals; preparing financial statements/reports, bank reconciliation, petty cash, and payroll. Students will also learn how to analyze financial activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s books.
