This course is designed for students with little or no database experience. Examine basic database concepts,create and modify databases, and perform basic queries. Learn to query a database and generate reports. Students have the opportunity to practice these skills.

Microsoft Office Access – Level II

In this course, you will expand your knowledge of relational database design, write advanced queries, structure existing data, share data across applications, and customize reports. Extending your knowledge of Microsoft Access 2013 will result in a robust, functional database for your users.

Objectives:

  • Design a relational database.
  • Join tables to retrieve data from unrelated tables.
  • Organize a database for efficiency and performance, and to maintain data integrity.
  • Share data among Access and other applications.
  • Customize reports to organize the displayed information and produce specific print layouts.

Microsoft Office Access – Level III

For advanced Access users. Customize form layout, learn to add user interface features, and use macros to improve the interface. Develop your database security features.

Objectives:

  • Customize a form layout to improve usability and efficiency of data entry.
  • Add user interface features to validate data entry.
  • Use macros to improve user interface design.
  • Organize data into appropriate tables to ensure data dependency and minimize redundancy.
  • Lock down and prepare a database for distribution to multiple users.
  • Create and modify a database switchboard and set the startup options.
